how to order your own custom instrument build

Each instrument is individually handcrafted and allows you multiple options to choose from. I am happy to consult with you and walk you through everything.

I also try to keep a variety of completed instruments on the instruments for sale page that are available immediately. Below are the details for commissioning a new build.

UBH or GBH model process

  1. Select your tonewood choice (maple or walnut body and neck).

  2. Choose fingerboard and peghead overlay woods. (ebony, maple or rosewood fingerboards and figured maple or walnut peghead overlay).

  3. Select fret position marker type (side or front dots).

  4. Choose string type setup (traditional nylon ukulele strings or our own custom steel set).

  5. Email me with your selections here.

  6. Next a $360 non-refundable deposit is required to secure your spot in the build queue and lock in the current pricing.

Depending on the current build schedule I will give you a timeframe for completion of your instrument. Custom builds are always a priority and usually can be completed within a few weeks of finalizing the details.

Upon completion, the remaining balance is due.

After funds are received, non-local pickup orders will be shipped.

UBH-C or GBH-C  (Custom models)

As these are completely customized to your preferences, the variety of options are endless.

  1. It starts with a phone call or email to discuss your ideas. We can collaborate during this process and spend some time realizing your vision.

  2. Once we have everything sorted out, I will put together a build sheet outlining your options and give you a price including a deposit amount and a prospective timeline.

  3. When you are ready, submit your deposit and lock in the price quoted and timeframe.

Upon completion, the remaining balance is due.

After funds are received, non-local pickup orders will be shipped.
